Cambridge: FIRST Lvl 1

The B2 level of Cambridge English Qualifications.

Course Description

This is the B2 level of the Cambridge English Qualifications. In this level, students will be prepared to live and work independently in an English-speaking country or study courses taught in English. This qualification shows that you can

  • communicate effectively face-to-face, expressing opinions and presenting arguments
  • follow the news
  • write clear, detailed English, expressing opinions and explaining the advantages and disadvantages of different points of view
  • write letters, reports, stories and lots of other types of text.

The homework is designed to prepare the students for the Cambridge test format for the listening, reading and writing papers. These papers teach different English skills that are divided into parts. There are four parts in the listening homework, seven parts in the reading homework, and two parts in the writing homework. Once the students have completed all the parts, they move on to the next stage.

  • Stage One: Introduction
  • Stage Two: Repetition
  • Stage Three: Reinforcement

Each homework must be completed for the student to move on to the next assignment. Nearly all responses are graded automatically, and the correct answers will be discussed in the following lesson. At the end of the course, students will receive a certificate to mark their achievement for completing the online portion of the Cambridge English course.

What will the student learn?

Listening: to understand a range of spoken materials, such as news programmes, presentations and everyday conversations.

Reading: to confidently understand different types of text, such as fiction, newspapers and magazines.

Writing: to produce different pieces of writing such as letters, reports, reviews and essays.
